Sanju Samson received a lot of appreciation from former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar on Thursday following the visitors' three-match ODI series victory over South Africa. Samson scored his first century for his country, India, with 78 runs in the series decider in Paarl. Following his invitation to bat, the wicketkeeper-batter scored 108 off 114 balls, striking six fours and three sixes, as India amassed a total of 296/8. Samson, who has failed to establish himself on the squad despite having an average of above 50 in the format, was greatly relieved to receive the knock.

Manjrekar praised Samson for controlling his instincts, saying that after the blow in Paarl, his respect for the player has increased dramatically."Had Sanju Samson Got 100 From 80 Balls...": Ex-India Star's Intriguing Take On 3rd ODI Ton

If Sanju Samson had scored an incredible hundred runs in eighty balls, you would have applauded him! But my respect for Samson has increased significantly today because he obviously went against his nature by coming into the batting in the fifth over, reaching his century in the 44th over, and playing to the team's requirements," Manjrekar wrote on the social media platform.
